Obituary: Alice Marie (Dwyer) Grandy

Alice Marie (Dwyer) Grandy, 68, of Easton, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, died Monday, July 15, 2013. She was the loving wife of Alfred J. Grandy for 52 years.

Born in Malden July 1, 1945, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Viola B. (Faulkner) Dwyer, she was raised in Malden and Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School.

Alice was employed by the Town of Easton and worked in the cafeteria at the Parkview Elementary School. Later, she worked as a baker for Shaw's Supermarket in Easton for 10 years.

Past President of the Easton Little League, she was a longtime member of the Oliver Ames High School Hockey Booster Club. She was an avid bingo player.

In addition to her husband Alfred, she is survived by her seven children, Alfred J.Grandy Jr. of Taunton, Timothy J. Grandy and his wife Donna of Plymouth, Gregory T.Grandy of Brockton, Scott P. Grandy of Middleboro, Gary D. Grandy of Easton, Maria Elena Whalon and her husband Michael of Taunton and Christina M. de Oliveira and her husband Julio Cesar of Medford; twin sister of Marion Attardo and her husband Daniel of Norwell; seven grandchildren, Justin Grandy, Sarah Grandy, Victoria Grandy, TJ Grandy, Cari Grandy, Garrett Grandy and Jonathan Whalon; three great grandchildren, Jacob and Avalyn Bergeron and Kallie Whalon; and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late June Zografos.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Friday at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice Marie's memory may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
