Mansfield Man (and '99 Stoughton High Grad) Wanted by FBI For Terrorism

A local man is wanted by the FBI for conspiracy to provide material support or resource to al Qaeda in an effort to kill American soldiers.

The FBI said Wednesday Ahmad Abousamra, formally of Mansfield, traveled to Pakistan and Yemen to seek military training so he could kill American soldiers. There is a $50,000 reward for Abousamra's arrest.

Abousamra lived at 33 Church St. in Mansfield during his time in town. He is also a 1999 graduate of Stoughton High School.

Stoughton High Community Mourns Loss of Senior David Wade

Fielding questions after the Stoughton High football team's 25-6 win over heavily-favored Mansfield Sept. 28 at home, head coach Greg Burke said that the team's season "is dedicated to all departed Stoughton High football players. They're with us thick an thin. We're playing it for them and the former players that have been here since 1926."

Late Saturday afternoon, less than 24 hours after this feel-good win, the Stoughton High football team lost another one of its family members, this time a current player.

David Wade, 17, a senior at Stoughton High School, died on Sept. 29 after he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at his Turnpike St. home, Norfolk County District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said. Wade was shot by his 21-year-old brother in what was reported as an accidental shooting.

Mount Pleasant Police Officer Says Hess Was 'Aggressor' in DJ Henry Case

Mount Pleasant Police Officer Ronald Beckley, the second officer to fire his weapon the night of Easton native DJ Henry's death, said during his deposition in federal court last week that he fired his gun to stop Pleasantville police officer Aaron Hess, who he felt was the "aggressor."

"I was shooting at a person that I thought was the aggressor and was inflicting deadly physical force on another," Beckley told Michael Sussman, who deposed him as part of a civil suit filed by the Henry family against Hess and the Village of Pleasantville, NY.

Hess, a Pleasantville Police Officer, shot and killed Henry on Oct. 17, 2010 outside a bar in Pleasantville as Henry was driving in his vehicle. He was not indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury.

In Beckley's 65-page deposition, he describes to Sussman, the Henry family lawyer, what he recalls from that evening. According to Beckley, who has since retired, he arrived that night in response to a call regarding a bar fight. His attention turned to Henry's car when he heard gunfire and saw "a dark figure in front of that vehicle mounting that vehicle."

Two Rollover Accidents in Easton

Easton emergency officials responded to a rollover accident on the corner of Central Street and short Street Friday night at approximately 5 p.m.

A Nissan carrying two 18 year-olds and two 20 year-olds flipped after sliding into a stone wall in heavy rain. Nobody was injured.

Emergency officials responded to the corner of Belmont Street and Washington Street Friday at approximately 10:50 p.m. for a rollover accident.

No injuries were reported in the two-car accident.
