Consumer/Shred Day

The Patrick Administration's Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and the Registry of Motor Vehicles will hold Consumer/Shred Day, an educational initiative designed to bring information and services directly to the general public. Representatives from the divisions of banks, telecommunications and cable, insurance, standards, and professional licensure will also be on hand to answer consumer questions and provide information.

Consumers are encouraged to shred their personal financial documents - such as credit card bills, bank statements, and expired insurance policies - after the documents are no longer needed.  Shredding shields personal data and helps protect against identity theft.

FREE off-site shredding to be provided by Doc Shredding Corp of Wrentham, starting at 11:30 AM.

A speaking program will begin at 11:00 AM featuring:

  1. Barbara Anthony, Undersecretary, Office

of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation
  2. Rachel Kaprielian, Registrar of Motor Vehicles
  3. Representative Claire Cronin
  4. Representative Michael Brady
  5. Mayor Linda M. Balzotti, City
    of Brockton
  6. Mandi Rinaldi, Sales Manager, Doc Shredding Corp
  7. Brian Moriarty, Director, NeighborWorks Southern Mass
