Sunday Saunters      Sunday   December 16      3-4pm                                                                                                           Join us for a relaxed on-the-trail interpretive featuring what each month has to offer. Follow the progression of fall into winter. Walks are cancelled in inclement weather; call prior to attending if the weather is questionable. Sunday December 16,      FREE


Free Star Parties     Friday   December 14    7.30-10.00pm                                                                         Join local Astronomers and view the night sky through their big telescopes. Drop in for the entire time or just some of  the evening.  Park in the nature center lot and bring a flashlight to follow the marked self-guided path to find the viewing field.  Free

Night Hike     Wednesday   December 12     7-8pm                                                               What  comes out in the woods when the sun goes down at Moose Hill? Test your night vision, listen to nocturnal critters( don’t worry  , we will be the scariest thing out there) and enjoy a night out with the family. End with a sparkle party                      Fee per person $5-$8  pre-registration required


Winter Stories     Sunday   December 30    3-4pm                                                     Welcome in winter’s arrival with a afternoon of stories and hot chocolate. Winter-themed stories will be featured during this all-indoor afternoon of word fun and crafts.   Fee per person;  $5-$8 pre-registration required.


Ages 4-6


Bear Snores On     Thursday December 6;    10-11.30am or 1-2.30pm                                           Black bears live in the state, but have not been seen at Moose Hill. Why not? Enjoy a silly story about a bear who sleeps through a party in his own cave before heading outside to search for what a bear would need to survive at Moose Hill.


Tea for Two  Wednesday December 13;    10.00-11.30am or 1.00-2.30pm


Bring your favorite teddy bear ( or any other stuffed animal) for a fun program. Listen to a variety of nature storybooks and then enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Perhaps your stuffed animal will be featured in one of the stories. Make your own picture books to take home during this all indoor program    $8- $11


Where Did They Go?   December 13    10-11.30am or 1-2.30pm                                                      What happened to some of the animals at Moose Hill? Hummingbirds, Monarch butterflies and other small birds….where did they go?Discover which animals leave for the winter and why. Search for the creatures that stick around while exploring a winter’s day.  $8-$11


Pre-School  Science    Wednesday December 19   10-11.30 or 1-2.30pm


Try your hand at several messy and fun experiments during this fun program. Make a gooey substance, experiment with magnets, determine which objects will float or sink, and much more during this hands-on minds-on class.  $8-$11


Gifts from Nature  Thursday  December 20,   10-11.30am or 1-2.30pm


Nature has many gifts to offer; the perfect rock, a stick shaped like a bird and many more. Search Moose Hill for the perfect gift. Decorate a small box to take home the item, or just the perfect memory. Make another project as a gift to give away, or keep for yourself.   $8-$11


Born To Build  Tuesday   December 4,  3.30-5.00pm


Beavers build dams, birds make nests out of everything from grass to mud to string, wasps chew wood into papier-mache, and spiders construct elaborate webs from their own spinnerets. Animals build all sorts of homes so that they can stay warm, be protected, capture prey, and even raise their young. Try your hand at replicating these homes and get a chance to BUILD your own! Join Michael Acciavatti for this afterschool active, outdoor exploration no matter what the weather. Please no flip-flops and dress for the weather. $9-$12 pre-registration required
