I'm Celebrating Blame Someone Else Day!

"So iv you has a problem wif anypart of these artickle it ain’t my fallt – its yers!"  That’s right, the first Friday 13th of the year is celebrated nationally as Blame Someone Else Day.  Sound crazy?  Heck! I didn’t come up with it! Personally, I think this just might be the best day I’ve had all year!  I know, traditionally, Friday the 13th wakes most of us with a shiver.  We hide under covers, watch for black cats, tall ladders and throw salt over our shoulders (some of us might even hide from the boss?)  but this year - 2013 - is the year my luck is due to change and I'm not hiding from anything! It's not my fault the sink is clogged, it's not my fault the squash bugs ate my zucchini and it's not my fault the laundry isn't done!

I can't find details about the origin of this day, just a short note advising me of the personal freedom and lack of responsibility I am apt to enjoy.  So in the spirit of the day, allow me to advise - it wasn't me.  Apparently, on the first Friday the 13th of 1982, Anne Moeller of Clio, Michigan's alarm clock did not go off, and she overslept. As a result, she was late for appointments all day long and made excuses for being late while blaming others for the fall out.  Way to go Anne!

This blog post is a week later than I expected because the darned kids started school!  The late summer veggies I planted aren't doing well because the bunnies and the field mice are eating me out of house, home and community garden and I'm going to be late to every appointment I have scheduled today because everyone else is running too early.   Aaahh...  no pressure and quite frankly, I feel better already!

Have a great day today folks - and if you don't?  Well, whatever you do, don't blame me ;)
