Easton Community Honors DJ Henry

The third annual DJ Henry Dream Fund 5K is this Saturday and a fundraiser is being held today at Bertucci's.

The DJ Henry Dream Fund is continuing its mission this week to turn "tragedy into triumph," by raising money and encouraging kids and young adults "to say “YES” to healthy lifestyles through athletics and wellness programs."

If you go to Bertucci's with the above flyer, 15 percent of the proceeds will go to the Dream Fund. The Dream Fund, which has helped over 2,400 kids since June 2011, is also running its annual 5K this Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at the Easton Middle School. Registration is $20 online and $25 the day of the race.

Players from both the Easton and Brockton Pop Warner football programs will be among the runners in the race before playing each other on the field on Sunday. In addition to supporting the Dream Fund, Henry's mother Angella appealed to the Easton community on Facebook to make today, the anniversary of DJ's passing, a day of service in his memory.
