Hazardous Waste, Drug Dropoff and Roadside Cleanup Scheduled For This Weekend

It's Spring Cleanup Time in Easton.

While it may be perfect time for Spring cleanup at your house this weekend, the Town is offering services to help - and it is looking to do some cleaning itself.

This weekend, the Easton Department of Public Works will be hosting the 6th Annual Roadside Cleanup day. The DPW will be providing bags and personel to assist with cleanup. Volunteers are asked to contact the department at (508) 230-0800 for inquiries about locations and sign-up.

The DPW is also looking to assist you in your Spring Cleaning efforts.

Saturday is Hazardous Waste Collection Day from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Residents can drop off waste to the DPW on Center Street. Acceptable items include Antifreeze, Batteries, Chemicals, Cleansers, Propane Cylinders, Corrosives, Pesticide, Passenger Tires ( 4), Fluorescent Bulbs (up to 4ft. lengths), Paints (No Latex), Photo Chemicals, Poisons, and gasoline.

The Easton Lions will be on hand accepting appliances like Refrigerators, Stoves, Washers, and Dryers for $25.00. Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers, T.V’s, Computer Monitors, and Water Heaters for $20.00. Bikes are $5.00. Metals, furniture & other household items will be priced accordingly. Sports equipment is no charge.

And, if you're cleaning out your medicine cabinent, you can bring any expired and/or unused prescription and over the counter medications and drop them off at the Easton Police Department where they will be safely destroyed, police said.

Police are asking that residents keep drugs in the original container or, if not available, put them in a sealable plastic bag. Liquid medications should be in the original containers and inside sealable plastic bags. Used needles must be capped and placed in a Sharps or plastic container.

All prescription bottles should have all personal information removed or
blacked out.
