What's the Big Stink?

As television character gomer Pyle would say “Well surprise, surprise, surprise!”    That may be the thought now that the legislature overwhelmingly voted to repeal the so-called “Tech tax” that nobody quite understood in the first place. 

Well good for them and I guess good for us.  That said, one must question the wisdom and quite frankly the intelligence of many or our legislators including Senator Brian Joyce and Representative Claire Cronin, both voted for this ridiculous tax in the first place.  It is safe to surmise that neither had a damn clue about what they were voting for but as long as it was a tax, the were on it like stink on a turd.

Yeah, they sure got that one wrong and speaking of stink, I am sure they voted to cover their backsides, and then the back slapping continued away from that pesky eye of the public.  Laugh all you want but I have seen this behavior first hand.

Another thing that stinks here is the other taxes they voted for.  Just because they haven’t raised taxes in a while does not qualify as a good excuse and blaming the Republicans for not coming up with other ideas to raise revenue is as poor of an excuse as they are themselves.  Just in case you missed it, the Republicans came to the table with some really good ideas but as usual, they were shot down by their respective leaders.  Besides, nothing beats a good, old fashion tax hike.

I question both Senator Joyce as well as Representative Cronin not because of their party but because one has to ask if either are actually qualified to represent the people of our districts?  

I guess for now we will let the good times roll, but maybe, but doubtful on the next election you may want to vote for more qualified people regardless of their party affiliation as these two and a whole bunch more need to go back to those day jobs because when it comes to taxing us, they stink.
