Daniel T. Barrett, 80, Served in Korea and Worked as Mechanic for Caterpillar

Daniel T. "Tom" Barrett of Brockton, formerly of Easton, died on Jan. 19, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was 80.

Mr. Barrett was born in Easton, Feb. 8, 1933, and was the son of the late Daniel J. and Alice (Stringer) Barrett. He served his country with honor during the Korean conflict as a member of the U.S. Army and was an accomplished mechanic of heavy machinery for the Caterpillar Company. 

Mr. Barrett was the husband of the late Carolyn M. Barrett. He leaves his children Michael P. Barrett and his girlfriend Ann Powell of Taunton and Donna J. Inkel and her husband Peter of West Stewartstown, N.H.; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, James Barrett.

A funeral Mass was celebrated for Tom Thursday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., Easton. Visiting hours were held Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be held in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
