GARY T. OSBORNE

Gary T. Osborne age 60, of North Easton, died Friday June 22, 2012 at his home under the care of his loving family after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Gerry (McLaughlin) Osborne and the cherished father of Taryn and Gary. Mr. Obsorne was born in Meriden, Conn. A son of the late Willard and Irene (Wrobel) Osborne, he was raised in Brockton and resided in North Easton for the past 15 years.  A 1969 graduate of Brockton High School, Mr. Osborne had also received his BS degree from Stonehill College.

Mr. Osborne was a Director with Rogers Corp. in Rogers, Conn. Previously he had been Vice-President of Compensation and Benefits for over 25 years at Talbots in Hingham and had also worked at TJX Corp. and Bay State Gas.

He will be remembered as a gentle, quiet and easy going man who was thoughtful, intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mr. Osborne’s true joy in life was his loving wife Gerry and their two children. He loved his family and his time spent with his wide circle of friends. He always had a warm and welcoming manner and would be helpful to anyone. His home was a bustling center for summer fun, relaxation, and laughter.

Mr. Osborne thoroughly enjoyed boating and scuba diving. He was a member of the South Shore Neptune Dive Club and Quincy Yacht Club.

In addition to his wife Gerry, he is survived by his children Taryn B. Beuttler and her husband Andrew of Quincy and Gary T. Osborne, Jr. of Easton. He was the brother of Wayne A. Osborne and his wife Paula of Derry, NH and Cindy I. Kearney and her husband Bill of Brockton. He was the son-in-law of Phyllis McLaughlin and the late James D. McLaughlin of Easton and brother-in-law of Jim McLaughlin and his wife Patricia of N. Attleboro, Claire Cronin and her husband Ray of Easton, Joan Burke and her husband Dave of Easton and Hugh McLaughlin and his wife Breffni of Easton. Gary also leaves 15 nieces and nephews, six godchildren and many friends. He will be missed.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-9 p.m. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church  225 Purchase St. South Easton at 10 am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

JOSEPH F. MURPHY

Joseph F. “Joe” Murphy age 72 of North Easton, died Sunday June 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Linda A. (Daugirda) Murphy. Joe was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Patrick and Margaret (Murphy) Murphy and had resided in North Easton since 1983.

Mr. Murphy was a 1957 graduate of Brockton High School and earned his degree from Stonehill College in 1965. He received his MBA from Babson College and operated his own accounting firm in Easton for the past 20 years. Previously he had been the CEO of Crescent Credit Union in Brockton and Executive Vice President of The Boston Company.

During the Vietnam era, he had served in the US Air Force.

Mr. Murphy had been very involved with several civic organizations. He had been a member and past treasurer of the Easton Lions Club, treasurer of the Ames Free Library in Easton and treasurer of Bourne Community Boating.

In his free time, Mr. Murphy enjoyed boating and was a member of the Kingman Yacht Club in Cataumet. He also loved to read and stay on top of current events and politics. Mr. Murphy's true joy in his life was his family especially spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Linda, Mr. Murphy is survived by his two sons Daniel J. Murphy and his wife Erica of Easton and Matthew Murphy of Brockton. He was the loving grandfather of Grace, Luke and Emma and brother of William Murphy of Bridgewater, Katherine Mathews of Brockton, Margaret Simmons of East Bridgewater and Mary Beth Murphy of So. Dartmouth.

Mr. Murphy also leaves many nieces and nephews and extended family, including Fred and Alicia Isleib of Easton and their children Ella, Noah and Kayla.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123), Brockton on Thursday 4-8 p,m. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Joe’s name to the Ames Free Library 53 N.
