ELEANOR E. BLYE (BARLEY)

Eleanor E. Blye (Barley) of Easton passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Southeast Rehabilitation Center in North Easton. She was 84 years old. She was born in Canton; daughter of the late Melville & Eleanor (Sheck) Barley.

She was the loving wife of the late Phillip B. Blye and the beloved mother of Phillip E. Blye of Bourne, Robert Blye of FL, the late James Blye of Raynham, Arthur Blye of Norton, Lawrence Blye of Norton, Richard Blye of Easton, Daniel Blye of Mansfield, Sandra Gomes of Easton, the late Sharon Phillips of Easton, and Sheryl LaFrance of Attleboro.

She was the devoted sister of the late Buddy Barley, Donald Barley, Paula Scully of NH, and John Coen of Plymouth. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Eleanor enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling to Foxwoods Resort, gardening, knitting, crocheting, ice skating, playing shuffleboard, and making Raggedy Ann dolls. She was a former Girl Scout Leader. She loved feeding and watching birds.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home 38 Center St., Easton, followed by a graveside service at 1 pm in Furnace Village Cemetery in Easton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

GENEVIEVE WINTERS

On June 26, Genevieve A. Winters, of Hanover, formerly of Easton, died after a period of failing health. She was 92 years old.

Born in Boston, Genevieve was the daughter of the late Antonio and Jennie (Cappello) D’Arrigo, and the wife of the late James M. Winters.

In addition to secretarial and bookkeeping jobs, including the Naval Shipyard, Genevieve was a waitress at Producer’s Dairy and Bickford’s in Brockton. She also worked in the Telephone Catalogue Sales Department of Sears and later was a salesclerk in the Sear’s Women’s Department. In 1997, she retired at 77 years of age.

Her life centered around her Catholic faith and family. She was a member of the Brockton Woman’s Club, the Red Hat Society, and the Daughters of Isabella. Genevieve volunteered at the Holy Cross Family Ministries. She also loved working with children and volunteered for many years at the Parkview Elementary School in Easton. In 2003, the Easton Lion’s Club honored her as the “Senior Citizen of the Year”.

Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Belmore and her husband Stephen along with her son, John Winters and his partner Lorie Hollar. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kevin, Andrew and Adam Belmore, Melissa Winters and her husband Christopher Sexton, Ryan Winters and his wife Leigh-Ann, and Erin Mae McClerran and her husband Shane. Genevieve was the sister of the late Joseph, Charles, Ernest, and John D’Arrigo and Caroline (D’Arrigo) Trifilette.

As per her request, there will be no viewing hours. A funeral mass will be held on July 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church of Easton.
