Easton Obituary: Karen L. "Kay" (Lowndes) Fulcher

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington St. (Rte.138) Easton, on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10 a.m.

Karen L. "Kay" (Lowndes) Fulcher, 67, a lifelong resident of Easton, died Monday, Sept. 17, at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of Wallace "Wally" Fulcher for 47 years.

Born in Brockton on March 21, 1945, a daughter of the late George and Mildred (Brennan) Lowndes, she was raised in Easton and was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Brockton. She continued her education at Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston.

Mrs. Fulcher was employed as a medical secretary for over 25 years and worked for James P. Douglas-Steele MD of Brockton. Kay held several officer positions in the newly formed League of Women Voters of Easton, she was the president of the Easton Garden Club, a position she held throughout her illness and was a contributor to the book "Dear Parents: Letters to Bereaved Parents" after the passing of her daughter, Karensue.

A light in so many peoples lives, her humor and compassion would always shine thru. Mrs Fulcher's loyalty and devotion to family, friends, and the causes she believed in was an example of her strength and beauty and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa McKenna and her husband Michael of Easton; a sister, Suzanne Goldsmith and her husband Michael of Fredericksburg, VA.; her brother-in-law & sister-in-law, William and Judith Fulcher of Easton; beloved Nana of Molly, Patrick and Abigail; She was also the mother of the late Karensue Fulcher.
