Remembering Ralph M. Olsen

Ralph M. Olsen, 79, a resident of Easton for the past 58 years, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, December 13, 2012. He was the husband of Muriel M. (Baggs) Olsen for 58 years.

Born in Boston on March 12, 1933, a son of the late Alfred and Sylvia (Makie) Olsen, he was raised in Boston and was a graduate of the Boston Public Schools.. A veteran of the Korean War, he served as an A/1C in the US Air Force.

Ralph was employed as a service manger for Fruehauf Trailer of Waltham. He was later employed as a real estate broker for Berry Real Estate of Whitman. He had also been employed with Bridgewater Camera.

A member of the Covenant Congregational Church of North Easton and the American Legion Post 7 of Easton his hobbies included model airplane building, puzzles and art drawing.

In addition to his wife Muriel, he is survived by four daughters, Donna L. Chisholm and her husband John of Bridgewater, Karen M. Short and her husband James of Easton, Tina M Jacques and her husband Timothy of Feeding Hills, and Joanne B. Byron and her husband Mark of Carver; a sister, Sandra Weed of North Carolina; a brother, Roy Olsen of Maine; and seven grandchildren, John Chisholm IV of Bridgewater, Gregory Chisholm of Bridgewater, Joshua Jacques of Feeding Hills, Brandon Short of Easton, Emily Short of Easton, Jacob Byron of Carver and Amanda Byron of Carver. He was also the brother of the late Bruce Olsen.
