Remembering Richard I. Jennings

Richard I. Jennings, 68, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Easton, died Sunday at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Wendy M. (Bodio) Jennings for 26 years.

Born in Brockton on April 20, 1944, a son of the late Richard C. and Ida V. (Banks) Jennings, he was raised in Brockton and Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Army as an E-3 and was the recipient of the Air Medal. Richard was a self-employed welder and truck driver and was the proprietor of DJ Trucking of Easton.

An avid cook, his hobbies included woodworking, boating, and fishing.

In addition to his wife Wendy, he is survived by four children, Richard Jennings of FL., Todd Jennings and his wife Kara of Raynham, Nicole Coakley and her husband Paul of West Bridgewater and Melissa York and her husband Daniel of Bridgewater; three grandchildren, Nicolas, Avery, and Drew; and his siblings.
