Evelyn M. Simpson, 97, Lived in Easton For 50 Years

Evelyn M. (Bergeron) Simpson, 97, of Middleboro, formerly of Easton, died Sunday, Oct. 20 at Golden Living Center Oak Hill in Middleboro after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Norman H. Simpson. Born in Brockton, Feb. 1, 1916, a daughter of the late George and Philamena (Marchand) Bergeron, she was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School.

A devoted homemaker when her children were young, she later went to work for the Foxboro Company as a secretary for 15 years. A resident of Easton for 50 years, she moved to Middleboro 10 years ago. A founding member and former communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton, her hobbies included sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Evelyn leaves her children, Elaine J. Freeman of Easton, Wayne N. Simpson of Brockton, Norma J. Baldner of Marstons Mills, Barbara J. Haynes of Easton, Gerrie L. Cuddy of Middleboro, Thomas B. Simpson of Taunton, Peter J. Simpson of East Harwich and the late Richard M. Simpson; a brother, David Bergeron of Brockton; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by eight sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
