Obituary: Frances Trisorio, 83, Longtime Music Teacher

Frances Rosemarie Trisorio, 83, of Easton, died Sunday December at Southeast Rehab in Easton. She was born in North Adams on January 16, 1930, daughter of Michael and Carmela (Ponzillo) Trisorio.

She attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School with the class of 1947. She studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and graduated from the Boston University School of Fine Arts in 1954. Mrs. Trisorio later completed a master's degree in education from Boston University.

She began teaching music on Cape Cod and later taught in the Marshfield school system. She was last employed at Westwood High School, where she taught for 24 years until her retirement in 1992. She also taught graduate students in Norfolk County and at the New England Conservatory.

Mrs. Trisorio was a member of the American Musicological Society and the Massachusetts Music Educators Association. She was awarded the Distinguished Teacher's Award from Norfolk County in 1997. She also sang professionally under the name Francesca R. Trisorio.

While in North Adams, she was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Easton. She leaves her niece, Michele Strilich and her husband, Dan of Woodland Park, Colo.; her brother-in-law, Edward LaBonte of North Adams; and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Antoinette LaBonte who died in 1975.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Trisorio will be celebrated Monday December 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour at Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. North Adams will be Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
