Talented musicians in Easton

On Wednesday January 29, 2014, a small concert occurred in the Immaculate Conception church.

A trio and a quartet of music students from OA high school as well as a duet of the Rev. Degane (organ), J. Hoeffler (trumpet) and an adult quartet of Michael Korn(Violin) his wife Beth Nussbaum (violin), M. Liebendorfer (viola) and D. Roth played an amazing concert.

What made the concert so perfect was the amazing clear acoustics of the church. I guess it is a little know secret, which hopefully will be taken advantage of by further concerts. Each piece was played so harmoniously, the sound so glorious as each performer blended with the other.

The small groups of students played exceptionally. The trumpet and organ piece reverberated throughout the church that sent chills.

The quartet melded together perfectly. Michael Korn’s solos were on such a caliber that made me realize that the high school has an extraordinary treasure. Hopefully there will be more to come from the OA orchestral music department.

Mrs. Grant had graciously donated the desserts after the concert.

How lucky we are to have such a strong music department at the Easton schools, gifted teachers and talented artists in our community. I strongly recommend that we continue to support them.
