Charlie Hopkins, Easton Cop, Dies

Police said he died suddenly. Hopkins was a 13-year veteran of the police department.

Easton Police Officer Charles "Charlie" Hopkins has died.

Police announced his death Monday. The cause was not released, though his death was "sudden," according to Police Chief Allen Krajcik. 

"Officer Hopkins was a dedicated veteran of the Easton PD for more than thirteen years," Krajcik said in a statement. "More importantly, Charlie was a devoted husband and father of three children. Charlie will be sadly missed by everyone."

A wake will be held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home in Cranston, Rhode Island. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Cranston Christian Fellowship.
