Cops Called for Man Protesting Easton Roche Bros.

The following are excerpts from the Easton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Mon., June 30

  • 7:26 a.m. A caller said there were two "suspicious" Hispanic men standing at the end of her driveway on Kingsley Road. An officer responded to the scene and found out they were just lost.
  • 8:18 a.m. A caller said a "rare African turtle" was trying to cross Route 106. The animal was contained and the Hingham Wildlife Center was called about the situation.
  • 11:17 a.m. A loose yellow lab was picked up and transported to the animal shelter.
  • 11:56 a.m. A caller said he saw a man break into a home on Bay Road and flee with a bag in a white van.
  • 7:31 p.m. A caller said two solicitors came to her home on Tanglewood Drive.
  • 8:30 p.m. A caller said she heard a "possible domestic" incident between a son and mother near Canton Street. An officer responded and found the pair were grieving at a cemetery.
  • 9:14 p.m. A caller said a group of youths were walking around Nutmeg Lane with alcohol.
Tue., July 1
  • 9:26 a.m. Officers assisted the Fire Department with a small fire at Wash N' Depot.
  • 6:14 p.m. Management at the Roche Bros. on Washington Street called police, saying a man was holding a large sign that protested shopping at Roche Bros.
  • 7:42 p.m. The back window of a car was smashed on Village Street, according to a caller.
