Easton Emergency Officials Respond to Slew of Accidents During Blizzard

A number of drivers weren't able to get home soon enough on Friday when the Blizzard of 2013 hit.

The following information was supplied by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Easton's emergency officials responded to numerous motor vehicle accidents Friday as the Blizzard of 2013 made its way into the Shovel Town.

Accidents began coming into the Easton Police Station at 10:40 a.m. Friday at Turnpike and Purchase. One person was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center after a two-car motor vehicle accident.

At 12:37 p.m., a car struck a tree at the corner of Central and Depot Street resulting in the injury of one motor vehicle operator.

At 2:42 p.m., a vehicle crashed outside of the Knights of Columbus on Foundry Street. No injuries were reported.

At 3:03 p.m., two cars collided at 336 Depot Street. No injuries were reported.

At 3:24 p.m., one person was injured when a car struck a pole at 76 Union Street.

At 3:40 p.m., a car struck a stone wall next door at 75 Union Street. No injuries were reported.

At 3:43 p.m., two cars collided at the corner of Center and Summer Street. No injuries were reported.

At 3:47 p.m., a one-car accident occurred at the corner of Central and Short Street. No injuries were reported.

At 4:14 p.m., a car reportedly struck a pole at 90 Lincoln Street. Upon emergency official arrival, the car was no longer there.

A number of non-plow vehicles were also disabled during the height of the storm, according to police reports.

At 8:56 p.m. Friday, a Toyota Camry became disabled at Ferrara Construction Corp. at Depot Street. Bournes Auto responded for a tow.

At 10:03 p.m., a Toyota Corolla became disabled at the corner of Washington and Main Street. The vehicle was freed and the operator was able to move it.

At 12:41 a.m. Saturday, a Toyota Camry became stuck in-between Main and Washington. The vehicle was eventually freed.

At 1:37 a.m., a Toyota Camry hybrid became stuck while attempting to pull into the driveway. The driveway was eventually cleared and his vehicle was able to be pulled in.

One Arrested for OUI Sunday

One person was arrested Sunday night after a three-car motor vehicle accident on Foundry Street Sunday night.

Shelly Shor, 47, of 50 Central Street was arrested for her second offense of drunk driving and a marked lanes violation. Shor was transported to Good Samaritan for injuries before being transported back to Easton Police Station.

Breaking and Entering Reported at Knights of Columbus

During the height of the Blizzard of 2013 Friday, a breaking and entering incident was reported at the Knights of Columbus.

Easton Police received an alarm at approximately 6:11 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found footprints around the building and a door pried open. The keyholder was notified.
