Easton Man Arraigned on Charges in "Rent to Own Scheme"

An Easton man who was allegedly involved in a "rent to own scheme" pleaded not guilty to four charges of Larceny over $250 and Larceny by a single scheme, according to Attorney General Martha Coakley's Office.

Joshua Leventhal, 42, was accused of deceiving consumers into believing his program would result in easy homeownership,” said Attorney General Martha Coakley in a previous statement. “This defendant allegedly preyed on the vulnerable and then stole their money for his own benefit, leaving some consumers essentially homeless.”

Leventhal has been released on personal recognizance and is due back in Bristol Superior Court on December 4 for a pre-trial conference.
