Easton Police Capture Alleged Counterfeiter

A Pawtucket, RI man was arrested for using counterfeit money at Easton's Target.

Easton Police, with the help of the U.S. Secret Service, arrested a Rhode Island man for using counterfeit money at Easton's Target store.

Dana Leyland, age 29 of 5 Dix Ave Pawtucket, RI is being charged with using and possessing counterfeit notes and larceny under.

According to Police Chief Allen Krajcik, he was caught after Target security reported on Nov. 5 that they had received several counterfeit $100 dollar bills.  Easton Detective Darren Mangott investigated and, with the help of security personnel, was able to obtain several photos of the suspect.  Det. Mangott contacted the US Secret Service and also posted the photos on the Mass Most Wanted website.

A detective with the Central Falls, RI police department recognized the suspect and after further investigation Det. Mangott took out charges against Leyland.
