Easton Police Recover Stolen Jewelry

An investigation Wednesday led to the recovery of some stolen jewelry

An Easton resident has their jewelry back today after an investigation Wednesday that led police to another Easton home.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a past housebreak at Greenwood Village, a condominium complex near the Five Corners, Police Chief Allen Krajcik said.

The resident said that she had left her condo for "about an hour" and when she returned a rear sliding glass door was smashed and jewelry, a television and other items were missing.

After observing footprints in the back yard and stolen jewelry on the ground, a canine team was called in to follow the trail. The dogs led police to 464 Foundry Street, the Azevedo residence, where more jewelry was found in the back yard.

"Officers were given consent by the homeowner to search the home and the stolen property was located in a loft above the garage," Krajcik said.  "The investigation is continuing."
