Easton Police Say Man Threatened to Burn Down Home


An Easton man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to break-in into an Elm Street home and then threatened to burn it down if victim didn't open a door Monday at 4:30 p.m., according to the Easton Police Department Lt. Gary Sullivan.
Charles Casey, 48, of 931 Washington St., was arrested by officer Carolyn Gurney, and charged with attempted breaking and entering, threatening to commit a crime, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Casey was held overnight at the New Bedford House of Correction on a $10,040 cash bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Taunton District Court Tuesday morning. Easton police officers Patrick Taylor, Brian Humenuk and Sgt. Daniel O'Reilly were also involved in the arrest.
