Easton Police Take Down Burglary Suspect; Officer Hurt

Justin Taitz allegedly tried to break into a Center Street home Friday morning.

Easton police said an officer was hurt while taking down an alleged burglar early Friday morning.

Officers responded to a Center Street home at about 2 a.m. after a woman said a man was trying to break in.

Police said they found Justin M. Taitz, 23, of 38 Edward Drive, Stoughton, hiding in a nearby recreational vehicle.

Police said he scuffled with officers trying to arrest him. One officer sustained a knee injury, according to Police Chief Allen Krajcik.

Taitz was charged with breaking and entering and destruction to property, among other charges.
