Easton Police Warn of Utility Company Scam

Fraudulent phone calls have been reported in the region.

The Easton Police Department last week issued an alert for a phone scam that's been reported in the region.

"Residents and business owners are receiving calls from someone alleging to be with National Grid, telling them they are behind on payments and their power will be cut unless they provide immediate payment," police said in a statement.

National Grid has been alerted to the situation, police said. The calls have been placed to an overseas telephone number.
