Easton Rape Suspect Adam Gomm Committed to Bridgewater State Hospital

Adam Gomm, arrested last week in Easton after he was charged with rape and assault, has now been committed to the Bridgewater State Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

After the 30-day period, Gomm will undergo a hearing to determine his dangerousness level.

Gomm was originally arrested last Tuesday morning when a Bristol County Sheriff Deputy saw a partially-clothed a woman lying on the street. She said her ex-boyfriend, allegedly Gomm, broke into her home, struck her repeatedly with a hammer and raped her.
Easton Police said Gomm was seen "covered in blood" running up the street in the area of Doyle's Pub on Washington Street.
