Easton Teen Charged in Deadly Labor Day Crash Appears in Court

The 17-year-old Oliver Ames football player has been accused of striking and killing a 71-year-old Easton man and his dog.

The Easton teenager accused of striking and killing a 71-year-old Easton resident and his dog on Labor Day, appeared in court today, according to 7 News.


According to the Easton Police Department, the teen was driving home from football practice when the 2005 Infiniti Sedan he was driving struck the victim, George E. Power of Easton, and his dog near or on the sidewalk on Summer Street before striking a tree and coming to rest.

The driver faces charges of negligently speeding with death resulting, speeding, and failure to stay in marked lanes. Today's hearing will determine if there is enough evidence for additional charges.
