Man Suffers Heart Attack in Highlands Plaza

A 70 year old Easton man was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital Monday night after suffering from a heart attack and crashing into a pole in the parking lot of on Robert Drive, Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said.

Partridge said the status of the man, who was leaving KoKo when he suffered the heart attack, is undetermined at this time.

A team effort, led by some good Samaritans, helped keep the man alive while emergency officials responded, Partridge said.

"Witnesses and bystanders saw him and went over to help him," Partridge said.

Audry Paccione and Nate Cheal, KoKo Fit Club members, were first to assist the man and help pull him out of the car.

KoKo Fit Club owner Craig McMahon said another man arrived to assist.

The man claimed he was a male nurse, McMahon said, and used the defibrillator available in the gym to help resuscitate the victim. Saying he didn't want to leave his child alone in the car, the man left before anyone could get his name, McMahon said.

"They shocked him once and then our guys arrived," Partridge said. "Our ambulance was already out so we called Mansfield and it took a little while for them to get there, and then we transported with Mansfield. When he went to the hospital he had blood pressure and pulses."
