Motorcyclist Injured During Accident Saturday

A motorcyclist was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:20 p.m. after striking a car at the intersection of Foundry and Eastman Street.

Both Easton Police and Fire officials assisted on the scene.

One person was transferred to Good Samaritan Medical Center Friday night after his vehicle struck a pole near the on Belmont Street.

Police received calls informing them that the driver may be trapped under the dashboard. The driver was assisted by the Easton Fire Department and transferred to Brockton.

Breaking and Entering Reported on Allen Road

On Friday afternoon at approximately 2:50 p.m., police responded to Allen Road where a break-in had allegedly occurred.

Upon arrival, the officer confirmed that the cellar door had been ripped open. The incident is under investigation.

Police Arrest Alleged Shoplifter at Roche Brothers

Easton Police responded to Roche Brother's Supermarket on Washington Street Friday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. for an alleged shoplifter.

Lynn Raynor, 45, of 2 Summer Street was placed under arrest for the incident.

Suspicious Activity at Sleepy's

A strange occurrence at Sleepy's on Robert Drive sent police to the scene Thursday night at approximately 6:20.

A caller reported a male party that had been in the store for approximately two hours. The caller said the party was making her very uneasy. The party asked to use the bathroom and changed his clothes. He also brought in chocolate cake and "had approximately 20 red bulls."

The caller said the party wanted to write a check for a mattress but didn't want the store to cash it until the next day. The party also had no identification.

The party left while the caller was on the phone with police. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the patron.

Dighton Man Arrested for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer

A Dighton man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a police officer Tuesday.

Scott Mitchell, 51, of 1838 Williams Street in Dighton was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer after he took off running when police went to question him.

A caller reported a white male with salt and pepper hair, no shoes or shirt and ripped jean shorts walking up Depot Street from Turnpike Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The caller said the party asked her to call his father because his car broke down. The father was not receptive, according to the caller. The caller also informed police that the party may be intoxicated.

Police said Mitchell took off running and assaulted an officer when they arrived. After being pepper sprayed, he was placed under arrest. He refused to give his name immediately.

Mitchell was found to have a felony default warrant out for him.
