Operator Reportedly Flees Scene After Hitting Sign Post at Depot and Purchase

A look at Easton Police Log highlights.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5 at approximately 6 p.m., Police responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle that took down a signpost and continued down Depot Street trailing fluids. The Easton Fire Department was notified.

An officer followed the fluid trail and recovered the grill, heat shield and cadillac converter.

Police located a vehicle with similar damage in West Bridgewater and West Bridgewater Police were called to transfer the operator back to his residence and tow the vehicle.

A summons will be issued to the operator.

Accident Reported at Foundry and Poquanticut Friday

Police responded to a call at approximately 5:45 p.m. Friday regarding a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Foundry Street and Poquanticut.

Upon arrival, no injuries were found and the vehicle did not need a tow.

Cockatoo Reported on Elm Street Friday

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Easton Police responded to Elm Street for a cockatoo reported walking around in a neighbor's driveway.

Upon arrival, officers could not locate the animal.

Hit and Run Reported Early Saturday

On Saturday morning at approximately 1:50 a.m., a caller reported an accident and hit and run at the corner of Turnpike Street and Foundry Street. The caller said the vehicle fled down Route 106 towards West Bridgewater.

Brockton PD was notified to check a residence for the vehicle. Brockton PD was unable to locate the vehicle and the owner was not at his residence when Brockton PD attempted to talk to him.

Later, Brockton called back to inform Easton PD that the vehicle was at the residence and officers were responding to take pictures.

Breaking and Entering Reported at Puddingstone Lane

Easton Police responded to a past breaking and entering at Puddingstone Lane on Saturday at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday.

The resident reported seeing used matches and a 20-inch chrome BMX style Haro bicycle was stolen.

Accident Reported on Allen Road

Sunday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. a 911 caller reported a car hitting a tree. Emergency responders said the operator refused medical treatment. Property damage was logged on 128 Allen Road
