Pellet Stove Leads to Fire on Pine Street

Easton Emergency Officials responded to the call last week.

A Pine Street family was forced to evacuate its home on New Year's Day after a Pellet Stove caught on fire.

Emergency officials received a call at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 1 regarding a stove on fire. The family was asked to evacuate the building as emergency officials arrived. The pellet stove was on fire and the road was closed for a period of time.

Shoplifting Reported at Target

Easton Police received a call at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 regarding a shoplifter in Target.

The store reported a loss prevention officer chasing down a shoplifter who was leaving in a white vehicle. A summons will be issued.

Report of Shots Fired Near Columbus Ave Tedeschi's Determined Unfounded

At approximately 5 p.m. Thursday, a caller stated he heard gunshots and he and his friend were being pursued by a male shooter. The caller and friend ran toward the center of town.

Officers checked the area of the park and Tedeschis. The park was clear, and clerk in the store didn't hear or see anything. The caller stated the shooter may have gotten into a green van. Officers determined the call was unfounded.

Alleged Erratic Operator Arrested for Outstanding Warrant

An Easton resident was arrested for an outstanding warrant Friday night after a call reporting an erratic driver.

A motorist called Easton police to report the driver crossing the yellow line and almost hitting a telephone pole.

After an investigation, Michelle Millens, 24 of 8 Water Street was arrested for an outstanding warrant. She was released on $540 bail.

Report of Shots Fired at Stonehill

A resident reported Sunday at 5 p.m. hearing a succession of gunshots coming from the Stonehill campus. Easton Police contacted Stonehill and Brockton Police. They did not get similar calls.
