Police Break Up Large Gathering in Easton Industrial Park

Police responded to a possible race involving approximately 50 vehicles in Easton Industrial Park early Monday morning.

responded to a call at approximately 12:20 a.m. Monday morning regarding noise near the plaza parking lot, where one caller reportedly heard gunshots, and a possible race near the Easton Industrial Park.

Upon responding, police found nothing showing at the D'Angelo's parking lot. However, there were approximately 50 vehicles on Bristol Drive at the Easton Industrial Park, most of which fled when police arrived. The license plates of the remaining vehicles were recorded.

Police responded to a call at approximately 12:25 p.m. regarding a fight and possible assault with a dangerous weapon in the parking lot on Foundry Street. Police said two groups of people in two different vehicles were involved, however the cause of the fight has not yet been determined.

Police said summonses will be issued to the parties involved and a "shod foot" was involved in the fight.

OUI Arrest Made Friday Night

Police arrested a 20-year-old Easton man Friday night for operating under the influence after pulling him over on Bay Road.

Michael Berksza, 20, of 30 King Arthur Rd. was arrested for operating under the influence and was released early Saturday morning on $140 bail.

Breaking and Entering Reported Friday

A flat screen television was allegedly stolen from a Jenny Lind St. home Friday.

Police received a call at approximately 1 p.m. regarding the break-in at the caller's father's house. Police arrived and confirmed the break-in and larceny. The matter is under investigation.

Roll-Over Accident Early Friday Morning

A Bay Road man escaped a roll-over accident uninjured early Friday morning that sent police andresponders to the scene.

Jared Berry, of 23 Bay Road said he swerved when a deer ran in front of his vehicle, flipping his 2009 Hyundai onto its roof and trapping him inside the vehicle. Police and Fire responded at approximately 3 a.m. and emergency officials extracted him from the vehicle.

The accident is under investigation and no citations have been issued.
