Police Log: Copper Stolen from Moreau Hall, Shoplifting, and More

The following is from the Easton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

Friday, Dec. 6

At 6:49 a.m., a driver on Rockland Street reported hitting a deer but the deer ran off and there was minor damage to the vehicle, so no report was filed. 

At 8:49 a.m., a custodian from Moreau Hall reported that copper downspouts from the school are missing and were taken sometime before this morning. 

At 12:07 p.m., police received a report of a cat in the roadway near the Bank of Easton on Foundry Street. The cat was later brought to the Easton Police Station at 2:45 p.m. and was brought to an animal shelter.

At 2:09 p.m., a caller reported a lost dog sitting in the middle of the road on Harvestwood Lane. The dog was described as a mid-sized black dog with with curly hair.

At 2:33 p.m., a loss prevention officer from Hannaford reported having a woman in custody for shoplifting. He said that the suspect's boyfriend was outside waiting in a green Honda Civic and doesn't know she has been taken into custody. 

At 7:15 p.m., a caller reported that there may be a house party at his home involving juveniles. An officer cleared the juveniles and advised all parties.
