Police Log: Firearm Reported Stolen, Wine Theft Attempted

The following information was provided by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, Jan. 5

At 1:02 p.m., police responded to the area of Roche Bros. on a report of a male driving in a green Thunderbird while drinking a beer. Police located the reported vehicle but found no one inside.

At 4:13 p.m., police responded to Elise Circle after receiving a report from a resident that upon arriving home, he found his door open and a firearm was missing.

At 9:32 p.m., police responded to Scott's Fine Wine and Spirits on Washington Street on a report of four males who allegedly attempted to steal wine from the store before fleeing the scene on Rte. 138 in a silver Nissan. Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of Washington and Belmont Streets and spoke with the individuals. 

Wednesday, Jan. 1

At 10:09, a caller reported his dog, a pit bull mix, had gone missing. The dog was described as having a face that is half brown and half white. The dog was later found and brought to the owner's home. 

At 11:07 p.m., a caller reported to police that a white Maxima had been driving erratically in the area of Washington Street and Dongary Road. Police were unable to find the vehicle at the time, when heavy snow conditions were reported. 

Tuesday, Dec. 31

At 2:10 p.m., police responded to Norton Avenue on a report/complaint of a pickup truck, the operator of which had been allegedly selling meat, and a violation of the town's by-laws.

Monday, Dec. 30

At 5:36 a.m., police responded to the area of Foundry Street and New Pond Way after receiving a report of a vehicle that went off the road due to black ice. 

At 8:12 a.m., police responded to Highland Street on a report of a Ford Taurus that hit a stone wall and left towards Bay Road with front-end damage. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. 

At 1:46 p.m., police responded to Jay's Corner Convenience on Turnpike Street on a report of a female individual in the area who was reported to have possibly using illegal substances in the parking lot. Upon arrival, police found no drugs, but keys were taken or safe keeping and vehicle will be left int he parking lot.
