Police Log: Loose Horses, Fraud, Vandalism, and More

The following is from the Easton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

Friday, August 30

12:29 p.m. Suspicious Activity. El Mariachi Cantina, Washington Street. Officer requesting additional cruisers for disturbance outside El Mariachi Restaurant. One male placed in protective custody. Officers stand by until closing. 

3:53 a.m. Animal Incident. Canton Street. Caller reporting that she has two chocolate labs sleeping on her front steps. Advised caller no animal control officer on duty. 


10:16 a.m. 
Fraud. Party into station to report her debit card was stolen and used to make up purchases. Party was unable to wait and will return at a later time to speak to an officer. 

1:54 p.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Makeovers Salon, Washington Street. Party reporting two of her employees' vehicles were entered yesterday. 

6:44 p.m. Fraud. Mountain Road. Party reporting credit card fraud; requesting to speak with an officer. Subject advised. See report. 

7:35 p.m. Officer Wanted. Center Street. Caller reports and unwanted old friend knocking at the door, now sitting across the street in his vehicle. 

Saturday, August 31

1:49 p.m. Fraud. Resident reporting fraud, unauthorized use of missing/stolen Visa debit card on or after August 24.

4:13 p.m. Vandalism. Forest Edge Road. Caller reporting vandalism of his lawn by vehicles. Caller does not want to speak with an officer; requesting an incident entry. No suspects. 

11:24 p.m. Noise Complaint. Pat's Family Daycare, Washington Street. Anonymous caller reporting loud party and noise; requesting an officer. Residents advised to keep music down. 

Sunday, September 1

3:43 a.m. Noise complaint. Chandler Way. Caller reporting loud music coming from Chandler Way. Officer reporting a few people with loud music, parties advised to turn it down. 

4:49 a.m. Noise Complaint. Canton Street. Caller reports neighbors are outside having a party and being very loud. It has been going on for a few house. Officer spoke to parties that were out on the front porch. They were advised to bring it inside for the evening. 

6:52 a.m. Animal Incident. Gaslight Lane. Caller reporting three horses that were walking down the middle of Foundry Street and are now on gaslight lane. Animal Control Officer notified and responding. 

Monday, September 2

12:38 p.m. Larceny (over $250). Party in Easton Police Department in to report her cell phone was stolen at the Easton target store on yesterday's date. Officers en route to Indian Cove Way with caller to attempt to get an exact location of the cell phone through a tracking device. Officer en route to Target to get video of the suspect. En route to Indian cove way to attempt to retrieve the cell phone. No one home at this time, investigation to follow. 

2:38 p.m. Suspicious Activity. Elm Street. Caller reports seeing two suspicious male teens enter an abandoned shed on the trustee reservation property, does not think the parties have left yet. Officer moved party along, advised caller. 

5:58 p.m. Officer Wanted. The Farmer's Daughter, Main Street. Business owner requests advice on what might turn out to be an act of vandalism by current employee who will soon be let go. 

7:21 p.m. Noise Complaint. Raven Drive. Resident on Leisure Lane heard approximately 10 to 12 gunshots from behind his house. Officers observed fireworks in the sky and advised homeowners to cease. Complaint updated. 

8:04 p.m. Shoplifting. Target Corporation, Robert Drive. Loss prevention officer reports an attempting shoplifting just occurred. Suspect dropped the bag of high end merchandise prior to leaving in a silver station wagon. Bag was recovered, vehicle may have already crossed through intersection. 

8:34 p.m. Noise complaint. Mechanic Street. Resident reports ongoing problem with neighbor banging on walls of apartment and yelling. Officer attempted to speak with neighbor who did not answer door. Caller advised. 

Tuesday, September 3

10:26 a.m. Disturbance. Center Insurance Agency Foundry Street. Caller reporting a disgruntled customer that threw a glass bowl on the ground and yelling profanities before leaving the building. Suspect operating  a dark gray BMW. Party will be charged with disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property.
