Krjacik said police first received a call from Sarakiniotis at approximately 2 a.m. reporting the accident. The 2005 Nissan Altima he was operating was traveling southbound on Prospect Street in the vicinity of the former Easton landfill and went off the roadway, airborne and then into several trees. The vehicle received extensive damage.

The accident is being investigated by Officer Sean Lynch, Krajcik said. He said Sarakiniotis will be cited for speeding, operating to endanger, failure to wear a seatbelt and failure to stay in marked lanes.
