Two People Charged with Passing Fake Travelers Checks

The two people were reportedly involved in similar crimes in the area.

Police arrested two women who tried to pass four $100 fraudulent Travelers Checks at the Easton Target on Sunday.

Police arrested Shaneema Williams, 31, Bronx, NY, and Demetric Luckett, 27, of Palm Coast, FL, and charged them with passing the false checks.

Police said Williams passed the checks and then left the store in a silver Nissan Maxima with Florida plates. The car was driven by Luckett.

Stoughton Police notified Easton a short time later that Williams was arrested at the Stoughton Target store.

The duo are suspects in several other similar incidents that occurred in Taunton, Swansea and other communities.

The U.S. Secret Service is also investigating the crimes.
