Walpole Man Arrested After Causing Accident in Easton

One person was arrested after driving recklessly and causing an accident at Five Corners.

A Walpole man was arrested for drunk driving Sunday after allegedly driving recklessly down one of Easton's busiest roads.

Keith Eisele, 30, of 14 Field Drive, Walpole was arrested for Operating Under the Influence by Walpole Police. He will also be charged by Easton Police for leaving the scene of a property damage crash, speeding, operating recklessly, and improper passing.

Eisele was originally seen by an off-duty Easton Police Officer on Foundry Street (Route 106) in Easton heading westbound, Easton Police Chief Allen Krajcik said.

"An off-duty Easton police officer saw the vehicle near the Knights of Columbus on Foundry Street and reported that it was traveling at around 70 mph and passing in a no passing area and forcing vehicles off the roadway," Krajcik said in a statement.  "We then received a call that this vehicle caused an accident at the five corners [in Easton].  The suspect vehicle continued westbound toward Mansfield."

A caller identified the license plate of the vehicle, Krajcik said, which allowed Easton Police to notify Mansfield and Walpole Police. Eisele was eventually arrested in Walpole.
