Where Do Drivers Speed Most in Easton?

We want to hear from you and see if there's a consensus among readers.

We all know there are spots in Easton where people tend to speed throughout town.

While the town certainly has its main roads and routes (Route 138, 123 and 106), there are plenty of backroads and country trails where some people may forget they're not on the highway.

Now, we want to hear from you!

Tell us in the comments section which streets have the most speeders in town and which streets might need a raised section, another stop sign, more crosswalks or another measure to slow down traffic.

Then next Thursday, we'll run a poll based on the top five answers we received in the callout as we try to find which road in Easton drivers speed the most on.

Randall Street, especially during school year

I completely agree with Main Street. Most people double the speed limit in the 20 mph section and some motorists go even faster. Since they are traveling well above the posted limit, they don't see pedestrians in the crosswalks and fail to stop for them in addition to speed. This area (from the post office to beyond the Rockery) definitely needs to be addressed and soon.

Black Brook Rd- drivers seem to forget its not just a cut- thru and that there are families with children and pets. Worse during the school year, but there have been offensive drivers careening down the street on summer evenings as well.

Highland Street as it is a shortcut between Bay Road and the intersection near the Hannafords Plaza, and 495.

Canton Street right dow to the Rockery. It is an accident waiting to happen coming out of the library. There is so much greenery that blocks your vision. The come speeding around that arfea.

Main Street, from the Post Office: average speeds appear to be 40-45mph and some at 50-55mph. Heavy trucks are especially running fast! Main Street beginning at Canton and up to the Rockery are 45+ mph Elm Street 45mph from 138 to the YMCA parking lot.

Turnpike Street, or "Turnpike Dragway". I know the speed limit is 40, but that means that 50-70 mph is the norm. All hours day and night. I bet the town could make some serious money in tickets if they would set up traps. You take your life into your own hands just getting your mail.
