Dedham Director of Engineering Named as New Easton DPW Director

David J. Field, P.E. will take over as the new head of the department.

 

Not only has Easton named a new Department of Public Works Director, but the Shovel Town will officially have its first Town Engineer.

Easton Town Administrator David Colton announced Friday morning that David J. Field, P.E., of Attleboro will be the next Director of the Department of Public Works. He will replace Wayne Southworth, in the department and 11 years as the department's director.

Colton said Field, who has served as the Director of Engineering for Dedham since 2005, will help Easton in in "project management-particularly in sewer and transportation related construction."

"Director Field will take the lead role in completing the Town’s , the , the renovation of Frothingham Hall, and various ," Colton said in a statement.  "He also will lead the DPW in advancing its utilization of technology around operational efficiency and asset management.  Finally, he will bring an in-house engineering capability that has been absent in recent years."

Field is a  1997 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is a Massachusetts registered professional engineer. He will begin with the department on Feb. 13.
