Easton Hires Two New Police Officers

Two new officers were sworn in Monday in Easton.

Two new Easton police officers were recently hired and sworn in at Easton Town Offices.

Dionisios Kitsos and Matthew Solov took the police officer's oath and will be participating in the Plymouth Police Academy beginning April 1. The two new hires fill a spot left open after a retirement and a spot made available when a position was added at last spring's Annual Town Meeting.

Police Chief Allen Krajcik said both new officers completed the entrance exam with scores of 98.

"I'm glad we we're hiring two so we didn't have to decide between them," Krajcik said.

Both underwent "extensive vetting," Krajcik said, including and oral, physical and psychological exam.

Solov, who is also pursuing a law degree, will join the department after experience at the University of Massachusetts Campus Police Department in Amherst.

Kitsos has been the Directory Network Manager at Easton Public Schools since 2008.

"He is going to be an asset to our department with his computer skills," Krajcik said.
