Should Easton Receive Payment for Raynham Slots Plan?

The town wants $1 million a year for a proposed slots parlor in Raynham.

The Town of Easton is asking for $1 million per year from the developer of a proposed slots parlor in Raynham, should the project move forward, according to the Boston Globe

Town Administrator David A. Colton told the Globe that Easton will suffer significant impacts on traffic, construction, housing, municipal services, and the environment. Easton would be equally, if not more affected by the proposal than Raynham, he said, adding that “nearly half of all vehicle trips to and from the proposed casino will be traveling through Easton,” according to a report commissioned by the Raynham group.

What do you think of a slots parlor coming to Raynham? Do you think Easton should receive payment each year? Let us know in the comments below.
