Why Should You Go To Town Meeting?

The Board of Selectmen urged citizens to attend the Special Town Meeting coming up November 4.

The Board of Selectmen stressed the importance of attending Easton’s upcoming Town Meeting, at Oliver Ames High Monday November 4 at 7 p.m., at the end of their October 21 meeting.

The warrants have been officially posted, according to Town Administrator David A. Colton and noted that 100 citizens must attend to make quorum. “Getting quorum in early November is sometimes tough to do,” he said, emphasizing that with only ten articles, the meeting shouldn’t take too long.

“We can’t do anything until Town Meeting comes and votes on those things,” said Board of Selectmen Chair Colleen Corona. “It’s important to note that is’t additional funding for the school department, for special ed services that are unexpended, it’s additional finding for the veterans department and they are in need of that money and we can’t spend that money unless people show up and allow us to spend that money.”
