Easton Public Schools will be closed Monday, October 29, 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy. Southeastern Regional will also be closed Monday.

Easton Public Schools will be closed Monday, October 29, 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy.

No School Tomorrow! Be safe!," tweeted Oliver Ames High School principal Wes Paul at 6:13 p.m.

The decision was made shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday. This followed a Sunday afternoon press conference where Governor Deval Patrick asked that all schools and colleges in the state be closed in anticipation of the storm.

Hurricane Sandy is projected to make landfall in the New Jersey area, but it is such a large storm New England will be impacted as well. According to the WHDH/Channel 7 weather forecast, expect "increasing rain and wind through the day" on Monday.

The forecast continued: "Worst part of storm is likely from 9 a.m. until midnight. [on Monday]. Temps in the mid 60s. 1-3" of rain and wind gusts between 40-60mph - perhaps near 70mph outer Cape/islands. Strongest along the coast."

Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton is also closed on Monday.
