Oliver Ames Announces Mid-Year Exam Schedule

It's that time of the year. The holidays are over and, for high school students, it's time to start buckling down with academics.

They'll put their knowlege to the test, literally, this week during mid-year exams. Below is an announcement from Oliver Ames High School providing the exam schedule:

Oliver Ames High School will begin Mid-Year Exams on Thursday, January 17, 2013.  Exam periods will be 90 minutes in length.  On January 17th through January 23rd, students will need to be in school only when they have exams.  This examination period is an important learning experience for our students.  Our teachers have prepared students well for these exams, and we encourage parents/guardians to stress the importance of serious student study/review leading up to the testing period.  Students need plenty of rest and good nutrition at all times, but this need is even greater during this stressful time.  Students are encouraged to bring water to prevent dehydration during the exams as well as a snack to eat between exam sessions.  Oliver Ames High School will meet the state hourly requirements during this exam period.  All student services will be provided.  Guidance personnel will be available and students who receive Special Education Services will receive those services during the examination period.  Busses will run regular schedules, and lunch will be served.  Should there be a snow day, the exam schedule will continue as scheduled on the first day back.  Should there be a snow delay, we will start the schedule when the students arrive, omitting the assigned time for individual help prior to the exam.
