Oliver Ames’ Safe Grad Night Prepares for 18th Year

From volunteers to donation, get involved in this annual event for high school seniors.

Plans for the 18th annual Safe Grad Night at Oliver Ames High School are in full swing. The event will take place on graduation night, Sunday, June 1 at OAHS.

Safe Grad Night has become a tradition that provides an all-night, alcohol/drug free graduation party for the senior class. The seniors have the chance to celebrate graduation with a night of fun, entertainment, activities, and food in a safe environment. Parents of graduates can relax knowing that the graduates are enjoying themselves and are safe. The graduates check-in at 11 p.m. on June 1st and enjoy the all-night affair until 5 a.m. on Monday morning.

The school does not fund this event. This event is a gift from the Easton Community to the graduates of our high school. Each year, the Safe Grad Committee reaches out to the school district, parents, community members and local businesses to help fund and volunteer at this event, and it cannot take place without all of their participation.

We need your help. There are several ways that the Easton community can support the Graduates of Oliver Ames High School. One way is to provide Gift Card donations for prizes that night. Prizes are a big part of the evening and the seniors love them. Donations of gift cards from area businesses in any amount are always welcome. Last year, the committee gave more than 50 “prize packs” of gift cards to the seniors. Please mail your donations to Safe Grad Night, c/o 24 Cornerstone Drive, North Easton MA 02356

Another way the community can help is to volunteer for a shift that night. The event runs on volunteers. There will be three shifts that night:  Set up (5 - 10 p.m.) ; Event action (10 p.m. to 3 a.m.); Cleanup (2-5 a.m.). We need help in all 3 shifts. If you can volunteer, please contact debra.goveia@verizon.net

And lastly, the Easton community can fund the event with donations. You can mail them in to OA Safe Grad Night, 101 Lothrop Street, North Easton, MA  02356. Or you can also use our new GoFundMe account (search for “OA Safe Grad” at GoFundMe.com).

Tickets for the evening will be sold in advance at OAHS. Privilege forms for ticket sales are available in the high school office or on the website. All the activities and food for the evening are included with a ticket purchase.

Our community is proud of our graduates and the seniors of the graduating class are grateful for the community’s support.  For more information about Safe Grad Night, please check out the website atwww.OASafeGrad.org or contact Co-Chairs, Lynn Loewald atl.loewald@gmail.com or Deb Goveia at debra.goveia@verizon.
