16th Annual event a success.

Submitted to Easton Patch:

“The inflatables are awesome!”  stated Michaela Nichols and her friends as they ran back into the gym at the recent 16th annual  OAHS Safe Grad Night.  About 190 recent graduates of the OAHS Class of 2012 attended the all night extravaganza held June 3rd at the high school.

The graduates were kept busy all night by trying to outdo each other on the mechanical bull, the bungee run, the giant “rock” wall and slide, the obstacle course and the cash cube.  They created their own crazy dvd’s at the Boogie Heads, crammed themselves and their friends into an old-time photo booth, or tried their hand in the casino.  It seemed everyone wanted an airbrushed tattoo or a wacky balloon creation by the “Balloon-gineers” Royal Sorrell.  In between all that activity, many took a break in the cafeteria to feast on the great food offered all night long before heading back for more fun.

The grads were awarded over 50 prizes, all of which were donated by the Easton Community.  This year’s big prize, a combination TV/DVD player, was won by Haley Arnold. The $100 winner in the Cash Cube was Nick Blelloch.

After a terrific show by the hypnotist, it was a happy and tired group of graduates who went home at 5AM.

Everyone involved on the Safe Grad Committee is glad that the graduates had such a good time! We also want to thank all the people and businesses who volunteered their time and talents, food, and prizes to provide such a great event to keep the graduates safe.  If you would like to see more photos from this year’s event or would like to find out how to help with next year’s event, please visit our website at www.OASafeGrad.org
