Southeastern Regional Presents Its First Musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”
(South Easton) - Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School’s after school drama program 9/10 Players delighted audiences May 8-10, 2014 in evening and matinee presentations of the Tony-nominated, musical adaptation of the classic Charles Schultz favorite "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.” The students told the story of everyone's favorite "lovable loser" Charlie Brown as he boldly navigates another one of those days.
The musical represented the finest skills of the combined career courses at the vocational high school, including the art, electricity, sound system, set design and carpentry, to name a few of the crafts supporting Visual and Performing Arts and the after school drama program at the school. Faculty support included Kerri Cooper, Director, Mark Theriault, Musical Director and Christopher Crossen-Sills, Technical Director.
Southeastern Regional School District Superintendent Luis Lopes and wife, Doreen, enjoyed the opening night performance, taking part in a well-deserved standing ovation. “The students were great, and the hard work by the staff and students was clearly evident in the laughs and enjoyment of the entire audience. I am very proud of everyone involved with this production,” said Mr. Lopes. “The Performing Arts Department has come a very long way, in a relatively short amount of time. For our students to put on a musical during their first year in a permanent vocational space is truly amazing. Congratulations.”
