Southeastern Regional Student Earns Spot in 50th Annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference

(South Easton) – Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School students captured Gold, Silver, Bronze and Ribbons at the Massachusetts SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills state competition, held earlier this month at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlboro, MA. “Our students took home some medals this weekend and were very well behaved at the Skills USA Conference. More importantly, many left inspired and determined to do more, be more, and to be involved in Skills again next year. We are all very proud of the way they represented our school here at Southeastern,” said advisor Sheila Fox.

Matt Niklason, a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) student, who hails from West Bridgewater, secured a gold medal and a spot to compete in the 50th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) in Kansas City from June 23-27, 2014.

Southeastern Regional’s medal winners include the following students:

American Spirit- Bronze Medal- Team of Marcus Puleo, Deana Paton,& Kiara Jones - all Norton residents.

Job Application- Silver Medal- Samantha Cronin of Stoughton

Computer Maintenance- Bronze Medal- Michael Davidson of Sharon

State Officer Elect- Taylor Mackie of Mansfield

Nail Care- Silver Medal- Courtney Owen of East Bridgewater

HVAC- Gold Medal- Matt Nikalson of West Bridgewater

Costello Community Service - Silver Standard- Team of Mishelle Degross-Hebshie (Brockton) & Destiny Tolbert (Stoughton)

Legacy Award- Anaik Ried of Brockton

Non Traditional Portfolio- Silver Medal- Team of Alexandria Danielson (East Bridgewater), Jasmine Andrade (Brockton), & Stephanie Avila (Brockton)

In addition, numerous students took ribbons for their displays at Techspo including 3 First Place Ribbons
